“Thanks for putting on such a brilliant day, I learned loads. It was so well put together and I’m really surprised how much I learned. It was great to put on the suits and actually get out and handle the bees.

“undertook the “intro to bee keeping” course..during a cloudy but warm day. the bees were sleepy and very calm. Ruth and Dave teach in a very practical way, which gives you the confidence to step out on your own to begin this interesting hobby. They are both very generous with their skill and advice and I am about to go for it…
thank you so much. anyone thinking about beekeeping can’t do better than to seek out this course” Debs, June 2021

I completed my “Introduction to Beekeeping Course” run by Ruth and Dave at Ramsbottom Honey yesterday and definitely recommend it to anybody thinking of taking up beekeeping or even if you just have an interest in bees.
St.Ubbins Apiary is in an ideal location and makes the experience all the better.
Despite it pouring down during the morning the course went ahead 👌 with really informative and practical theory at the beginning followed by frame making. Ruth and Dave really know their stuff.👍
After lunch the rain held off so we learned how to light a smoker and then kitted up before getting to inspect the hives. There is so much to learn but getting hands on definitely gave me confidence to order my first colony.
There will be other courses to complement this course in the future but Ruth and Dave offer extra support to help you on the beekeeping journey through a WhatsApp Group. I can’t wait to get my first hive up and running.
If you’re in any doubt – give it a try – you won’t regret it. 👍 🐝
Thanks and see you soon 🤞
