Welcome to Ramsbottom Honey where the bees come first!
Our work begins with healthy, resilient colonies. By putting bees first — in how we keep them, teach about them, and share their products — we protect the ecosystems that support all of us.
From raw honey and propolis to education and corporate partnerships, every part of Ramsbottom Honey is shaped by respect for the hive.
Welcome to Ramsbottom Honey where beekeeping friends Brendan and Ruth keep bees, supply honey, bees, beekeeping equipment and beekeeping courses to the local community, schools and corporate clients across the local area and around Greater Manchester. #savethebees #ramsbottomhoney
Meet Brendan & Ruth – the team behind the hives
Ruth and Brendan have spent years working closely with bees — learning from them, teaching others, and challenging extractive approaches to beekeeping.
They believe:
- Beekeeping should support bees, not exploit them
- Education is the key to better stewardship
- Connection to nature improves human wellbeing

The Bee Degree
The Bee Degree is a bespoke, customisable scheme to encourage children to explore and engage with the natural world and experience beekeeping first-hand. Working with local community groups and schools Ramsbottom Honey offers educational visits, talks and opportunities to explore and sample first-hand the world of beekeeping.

Save The Bees
Bees and other pollinators are critical, yet our wild bees are in decline.
We rely so heavily on these beautiful insects, over one third of everything we eat would disappear from our tables without our pollinating insects.
“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees = no more pollination = no more plants = no more animals = no more man“ Albert Enstein
Britain’s Honeybee colonies are now increasing thanks to the increasing number of British hobby beekeepers. You can bee the change…….
If beekeeping is not for you, then why not play your part by:
