Welcome to Ramsbottom Honey where the bees come first!

Our work begins with healthy, resilient colonies. By putting bees first — in how we keep them, teach about them, and share their products — we protect the ecosystems that support all of us.

From raw honey and propolis to education and corporate partnerships, every part of Ramsbottom Honey is shaped by respect for the hive.

Welcome to Ramsbottom Honey where beekeeping friends Brendan and Ruth keep bees, supply honey, bees, beekeeping equipment and beekeeping courses to the local community, schools and corporate clients across the local area and around Greater Manchester. #savethebees #ramsbottomhoney

Meet Brendan & Ruth – the team behind the hives

Ruth and Brendan have spent years working closely with bees — learning from them, teaching others, and challenging extractive approaches to beekeeping.

We believe:

  • Beekeeping should support bees, not exploit them
  • Education is the key to better stewardship
  • Connection to nature improves human wellbeing

Why bees come first

Bees are not a commodity. They are complex, intelligent superorganisms that play a vital role in biodiversity, food systems and human wellbeing.

Our approach to beekeeping is deliberately respectful and low-intervention. We work with the natural rhythms of the hive, not against them. By prioritising colony health, resilience and balance, we create conditions where both bees and people can thrive.

This bees-first philosophy shapes everything we do — from education and ethical honey production to community learning and corporate engagement.
