Did you know that that when a queen bee is born she makes an urgent high-pitched buzzing sound, like a battle cry to warn any other queen bees in the hive. This is often called piping. The queens who are still in queen cells will respond with short buzzing called quacking.
We often hear queen bees piping at St.Ubbins Apiary.
