Courses

A variety of options are available for individuals, groups and corporate clients. Whether you are looking to get started in beekeeping or want an unusual gift for friends or family, there is plenty to choose from. Dave and Ruth will share with you their beekeeping hints and tips and support you on your bee keeping journey.

  • Thank you to everyone who attended our Introduction to Beekeeping Courses throughout 2023.  We wish you every success with your beekeeping  journey and will continue to support you every step of the way. Courses are now complete for this year and we will update the site with further information and dates for 2024 in due course. In the meantime you can contact us by email :  bees@ramsbottomhoney.co.uk   A short 1-day course for wannabee beekeepers before you start your beekeeping journey.
  • 2 hour session A chance to find out how honey is made and meet the bees who make it!
  • Half Day Course Ever wondered what it would be like to be a beekeeper? Join us at St.Ubbins Apiary for a half day session to find out more about bees, the colony and the hive as well as the chance to get up close to the bees.  You will have the opportunity to light a smoker, wear a beesuit and inspect a beehive!   Before you book, please note:
    • Most of the activity will take place outdoors, please dress appropriately.
    • Courses are weather dependant, in the event of bad weather will notify you that the course will be postponed offering you an alternative date
    • please be aware that this is a rural site with a short walk along a country lane to reach the apairy and the surface is uneven.
    • places are limited to ensure everyone has a great experience.
    • this is a working apiary, there are flying bees.
    • there is also a fishing lake and caution must be exercised.
